The History of 三京堂(Sankyodo)

Celebrating Over 70 Years of Tradition

In 1945, the founder Yoshinosuke established Sankyodo Kaki-ten in Shiroyama-cho, Oyama City, Tochigi Prefecture.
The business began with the production and wholesale of kenzan (needle-point holders for ikebana), later expanding to the wholesale and retail of both ikebana tools and tea utensils, serving customers throughout Japan.

In 1989, the company was renamed Sankyodo, continuing as both wholesaler and retailer, with the warm patronage of our many clients.

In recent years, we have contributed to the local community by supporting student tea gatherings in nearby elementary schools, junior high schools, high schools, and universities.
We have also provided assistance for distinguished tea events held at Nikko Toshogu Shrine and the Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa in Tochigi, as well as at Kairakuen Garden in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture.

Remaining true to our founding aspiration of being "a store that brings joy to its customers," we not only maintain our retail presence but also enhance our outreach services including out-of-store sales striving to extend our reach further across the Kanto region and beyond.
